Curricula - Learning Through AI 4 Science

Learning through doing — that’s where science and AI meet.

I design curricula that help students experience discovery for themselves. Each program turns real-world data and scientific challenges into hands-on learning — showing that AI isn’t just about coding; it’s about curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.

I started building these lessons because I wanted classrooms to feel more like labs: places where students ask “what if?” and then use data to find out. Every curriculum blends storytelling, scientific context, and machine learning in a way that invites participation rather than intimidation.

Hamster on a Wheel
The Hamster Show
Data science for beginners.

The Hamster Show is a free, online curriculum that teachers, students, and schools can use to learn about data, the data science lifecycle, and how data can be used to learn about our world. In this case, we learn about the lives of three hamsters - Fluff, Sprinkles and Cutie, and use Google sheets to analyze their running patterns for 9 months of their lives.

The Hamster Show is a playful introduction to data, modeling, and interpretation. Students analyze small, tangible datasets — from animal behavior to environmental patterns — learning the basics of data collection, visualization, and predictive thinking.

It’s designed to make “AI literacy” fun and accessible, emphasizing curiosity over complexity. Students leave understanding that algorithms are just another way to describe patterns in the world.

The Hamster Show! also won DS4E's Curriculum of the Year, and was featured by DS4E here. It has been used in over 100 schools worldwide.

The Textile Show!
Sustainability meets machine learning.

The Textile Show explores how AI can drive sustainability in materials and waste management. Using real textile and NIRS (near-infrared spectroscopy) data, students learn how sensors and models can classify fabrics and predict environmental impact.

The curriculum bridges science, engineering, and design — turning sustainability into a data problem that students can actually help solve.

The Textile Show! has been featured at ISTE 2025 and at Pycon 2025, and accesed by over 40 educators to date.

Both programs share the same goal: to make AI4Science tangible for learners. They turn abstract algorithms into stories about the real world — and invite the next generation of scientists to think computationally and ethically about discovery.
